Established in 1948 as the Lewis W. Jones Agency, an insurance provider for the transportation industry, Clemens & Associates has grown into one of the largest full service independent insurance agencies in downstate Illinois.

1960's: Don Clemens became a partner and the name was changed.
1978: Frank Niepagen & Richard Percy became junior partners.
1979: Clemens & Associates Life Agency, Ltd. was formed to provide group, life & health insurance and other corporate benefits.
1983: Niepagen & Percy purchased controlling interest in the firm.
1984: Branch office added in Carbondale, Illinois.
1986: Personal Lines department added.
1996: Branch office added in Orlando, Florida.
1999: Branch office added in Jerseyville, Illinois.
2005: Branch office added in Newnan, Georgia.
2009: Branch office added in Lebanon, Tennessee
